International Women's Day 2025

On International Women’s Day, we are spotlighting the women at BASF Coatings. We have invited some of our colleagues to share their experiences and perspectives. What’s working well and what still needs to change to achieve true gender equality at BASF Coatings and in society? Let’s listen, learn, and act!

An inclusive and supportive environment encouraged me to have an international career (with two small kids!). Trust and flexibility has allowed me to embrace the new challenge while supporting my family to adjust to our new home.

I wish for a society and policies that give men and women equal responsibilities and opportunities at home, with their children and at the workplace.

In my daily work, it is definitely not a topic that I am a woman. I am an employee with competences, talents and responsibilities. And that is good! Also, I love the contacts with my colleagues on the shopfloor and through the hierarchy. The source of my motivation is to give them what they need to grow. Isn’t it also the role of a mother in a family?

I wish all women could define their core priorities for the time being in order to make the right choices at home and at work (and this fits also for men 😊!)

Gender equality will truly be achieved once it is no longer required to be a specific point of discussion. It is not about being a woman or a man but about the most appropriate skill sets for a position.
