For more than 20 years, BASF has been one of the leading coating suppliers in the automotive interior market. We offer a broad product portfolio for interior trim parts focusing on wooden and carbon fiber substrates.

Our portfolio covers products for all layers – from stain to color the veneer, to sealer for perfect adhesion, to different topcoats giving the car interior its final finish. Our topcoat series includes three different solutions. Our high film build spray coat Interior Gloss UP is made for smaller production runs and provides a glossy finish with excellent color depth. With Elastocoat, we offer a glossy coating with high film build for bigger series with polyurethane machines. As open-pore spraycoat, InteriorGloss PUR provides mat finishes with excellent touch and feel. Our portfolio is completed by solventborne and waterborne additives for different applications and specialties, light stabilizers and UV protectors as well as edge colors and color concentrates.

Graphic: Special finish for wooden car interiors

The topcoat gives interior trim parts their final finish. They are available as glossy or as open-pore spray coat with excellent touch and feel in different matte degrees.

The sealer ensures perfect adhesion between the different substrates and topcoats.

The patina makes it possible to adjust the color shades of pretreated veneer.

The stain colors the entire veneer.

The putty repairs imperfections within the veneer.

The laminated wood veneers are made from a wide variety of (exotic) woods.

The substrate forms the basis of the layer system and usually consists of glass-fiber reinforced polycarbonat-ABS.
