To further this goal, we focus on reducing and eliminating chemicals in our products that are harmful to health and the environment. We seek out more sustainable raw materials to not only meet but exceed compliance with legal requirements and regulations.

Our commitment to developing safer and more sustainable chemicals not only aims to reduce environmental impact but also foster innovation and finding better solutions for a sustainable future. We aim to drive this change through our initiatives, such as:
- Transparent assessments guiding product development and portolfio management by focusing on safety, environmental sustainability, and efficiency, ensuring that our solutions meet and exceed the highest standards - as strigently executed via our Our Triple S (Sustainable Solution Steeringt) method.
- Continuously advancing our coatings and formulations to deliver significantly lower VOC emissions, exemplified by our Glasurit® 100 Line, which is recognized for its industry-leading low VOC levels.

The Triple S Method
BASF's Triple S method evaluates and clusters each BASF product according to its sustainability contributions into one of five predefined TripleS segments. The method increases measurability and transparency on sustainability is used to steer the development of BASF's portfolio as well as that of its various businesses, including BASF Coatings, towards continuously improved sustainability.

BASF Coatings' Glasurit® 100 Line is the first basecoat line on the market with a VOC value < 250 g/l. With 40% below solvent limit the product line, exceeds all global VOC requirements. Optimized process time and reduced materials consumption are enabled via new powerful features of the paint.
Sustainability benefit
With the lowest value of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on the market, the eco-friendliest automotive refinish paint line available, helping customers to reduce their environmental footprint. Savings up to 40% in process time and 30% in materials consumption possible compared to a standard basecoat line in the market.
