BASF Coatings supports young talents: Winners of the Car Painting skill competition at WorldSkills Lyon 2024

At this year's 47th WorldSkills Competition held in Lyon, France, more than 1,400 competitors from around 70 countries and regions took part in the event. BASF’s Coatings division, as the exclusive global industry partner for the Car Painting skill, supported the young talents and experts from around the world with its Glasurit 100 Line, the world's leading premium automotive refinish paint system. It is noted for its outstanding performance backed by proven benchmark results in process time, consumption, and sustainability.
At Automechanika 2024, BASF Coatings introduces its next generation of clearcoats which employs BASF’s unique ChemCycling technology.

From scrap tire to clearcoat: BASF Coatings launches first ChemCycling® products in the automotive refinish market

BASF Coatings officially introduced new product lines at Automechanika 2024, the world's leading international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. Further driving sustainability in the refinish industry, BASF’s next generation of clearcoats employs the company’s unique ChemCycling technology. The product lines, manufactured using recycled feedstock, are marketed under BASF’s premium brands Glasurit and R-M and will boost body shop efficiency and productivity. The products not only contribute to the circular economy but also reduce CO2 emissions.

BASF backs Panasonic’s launch of the first luminaire meeting the highest performance level in China

Panasonic, one of the world's leading luminaire manufacturers, incorporates BASF's optical film NovaFlex GlareControl for its new study luminaire "SHIYUE". The innovative film offers excellent anti-glare properties, allowing the product to meet the highest performance level of a new standard set by the China Quality Certification Center. This standard defines the performance requirements for all moveable luminaires for writing and reading application. The highest performance level, AAAAA, could only be met by using BASF’s solution for glare reduction.

Outstanding design: Automotive color by BASF recognized with renowned Red Dot Award

The color ZENOMENON, designed by BASF's Coatings division, was the only automotive paint to be honored this year at the Red Dot Award: Product Design, one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. The innovative technology and the special aesthetics of the coating have impressed the experts on the Red Dot jury in the "Materials and Surfaces" category.

BASF paves the way for young painters at WorldSkills Finals Lyon 2024

In 2022, BASF signed a multi-year global industry partnership as the exclusive sponsor of the Car Painting category of WorldSkills International and will be the global silver partner of the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, with its premium refinish paint brand Glasurit. From September 10–15, over 1,500 participants from more than 65 countries will compete in 62 skill competitions at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. The organization helps to promote worldwide vocational education and training and to show current and future employment needs.
